As the title suggests, things are coming together for the workshop. The dates have been decided, the principal singers are confirmed, and the chorus is starting to form. I’ve put out some feelers to performers and I should know more about that as the week progresses.
On the phone today John asked, “Are you excited? It’s going to happen!” I said, “yes.” But honestly, I’m tentatively excited. A slow burn tempered over so many false starts with this piece, but all for the good. John will make it happen.
I have reduced the ensemble from from a small orchestra to six players, and in the process I think the piece has become stronger. That process is fun too.
